Assistance provided to the contracting authority for the operation of the Grand Hôtel de la Reine, Nancy – Meurthe-et-Moselle
Location: Nancy, Meurthe-et-Moselle (Lorraine)
Project outline: The city of Nancy has more than 106 000 inhabitants and is located both at the heart of eastern France and along major cross-Europe routes. The owner of the Hôtel Alliot, which occupied the former Grand Hôtel de la Reine, having secured a lease from an operator, was looking to draw up a new development strategy for this high-end hotel. Horwath HTL identified a suitable market position and designed a development programme for the future five-star establishment. The hotel will be extended at the rear into the Lyautey building, former headquarters of the General Council, in order to provide a further 40 rooms in addition to the 40 currently available. A spa and swimming pool will also be developed.
Solution and implementation:
Stage one: define the concept for the establishment
- Perform a market environment study
- Produce product recommendations: accommodation, catering and ancillary services
- Draw up an economic model for the establishment (operating accounts and cash flows)
Stage two: define the legal and financial operating arrangements
- Propose operational recommendations for installation
- Participate in meetings with project partners: owner, potential investors, operator, etc.
- Approve the installation
Project status: The Nancy city council and the Ferré Hôtels group, which currently operates the Grand Hôtel, signed a protocol in late 2015 with a view to turning the hotel into the premier five-star establishment in the region. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2018.
